July 4 Patriotic Community Party

KrKV 107.3 Las Animas Radio Station and the Pioneer Historical Society of Bent County have teamed up to present the first annual 4th of July Patriotic Community Party.  The purpose of this party is to promote community pride and count our blessings.  The party will start at 5 p.m. at Bell Park, behind the John W. Rawlings Heritage Center at the stoplight and be done in plenty of time for the fireworks display.  Bill James will host the event.  Community members are asked to bring a cover dish that starts with their last name and to bring your own lawn chairs.  There are rumors that homemade ice cream will be served.  Wear your red, white and blue!!  Paper products will be provided, and the group is looking for another sponsor to help with that.  Admission is free but there will be a $2 donation box to help with minor expenses.  Area community members will provide music, entertainment, singing patriotic songs, reciting poems and much more.  Contact Bill James or Kathleen Tomlin if you have any questions.
